This is My command to you: Love one another. If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin (John 15:17:22).
Don’t be surprised by the world. Expect the world to behave as it has been instructed. God’s children are commanded to love one another. Satan’s children are called to hate and dominate. Your children must know that the world hates God. It is not a mere dislike, but a hatred that is empowered by demons and shaped by the devil. This hatred is the understanding of the demons within them that they know that you do not belong here. You are an outsider, living among unregenerate people destined for hell. Your children will be among children on their way to hell. You are instructed by God to train them in righteousness by speaking to them the wisdom found within the pages of Scripture. Your responsibility is to make sure they understand the war. If you fail to prepare them, they will fail.
The victory is promised to the parents that train. “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6). This is not a suggestion, but a conditional promise to them that train. Fail to train your children in the ways of the Lord, then you have failed them. Satan is like a roaring lion. He waits for opportunities to destroy them as early as possible or at the very least make sure they bring hell into your home. We are at war and must have that mindset, IF we are going to make it. In the midst of the spiritual blessings in heavenly places, the grace of God, and spiritual happiness given to the faithful, we are at war and must never forget it. Train your children by speaking about God at every opportunity and always have an answer from the Bible concerning their situation. Make God central and they will and they will have the victory and you will not mourn when the devil is slaying your children.
