Reggie Bush has been focusing on family after retiring from the NFL in 2017.

The athlete, who previously dated Kim Kardashian, is now happily married to dancer Lilit Avagyan, 32, and says he’s enjoying this new stage in his life as a father-of-three.

He tells PEOPLE: ‘I’ve been able to enjoy more time with our family and just being able to do things that I normally wouldn’t be able to be here for,’

The couple have their hands full with daughter Briseis, seven, and sons Uriah, four, and Agyemang, two.

Reggie explains, ‘For 20-plus years, most of my time was devoted to a single sport. Now I get an opportunity to be home, and to find a new passion and keep my focus on top of my family.’

He added that quarantining together during the coronavirus pandemic has been great for the family getting lots of quality time together.

‘We’ve been really focusing on this time with our family and trying to better ourselves,’ he says. ‘It’s definitely been a challenge for us to homeschool but together we feel like we’ve been learning in this process a lot about ourselves, and we’re making it work.’

Lilit added that the couple have had to manage their stress levels during homeschooling, to make sure it doesn’t impact the kids.

‘We have to learn how to be a lot more patient with each other and with the kids, because being with them all day long can push you to another level, stress wise,’ she says.

But Lilit insists they ‘simply cannot’ allow their kids to feel the stress and pressure.

Their solution, the mom-of-three shares, is to give each other time to go an decompress. A little break means the couple can come back to parenting at their best.
