“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance. But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and its works will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to conduct yourselves in holiness and godliness as you anticipate and hasten the coming of the day of God, when the heavens will be destroyed by fire and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with God’s promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells” (2 Peter 3:9-12).
The factors that bring about the Lord’s arrival is unity. While some fear the one world government and the rise of the anitchrist, these signs must come to pass.
The body of Christ both black and white must unify. This segregated state on Sunday is not repentance. God is waiting on everyone to come to repentance within the black and white church. The book of Revelation does not record a racial war, but a war against evil and good. This separation of people by racial groups is hindering the coming of the Lord.
Keep putting in the work of racial reconciliation and let us move past our history and rush into our future. We are destined to reside in the newness, where righteousness dwells. God is patiently waiting for us to get it together. You cannot enter in, without the stain of love. Wrestling with another over race is not a heart filled with love (God). Marrying one another and laying yourself bare and surrendering to one another is love. Jesus left an example for us to follow.
Hastening the Day of the Lord starts with us. Let us lay down the difference and wash ourselves from the historical school programming and put on Jesus Christ. Put on love, joy and peace. Keep it on and think of ways that we can hasten the coming of our King.
