Where there is no vision, the people perish (Proverbs 29:18). When does one become people? When one exists. Who requires a vision? People that seek to live and not die an eternal death in hell. God is only interested in His children and all others will be sent to hell. Jesus says in Matthew 18:6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones–those who believe in me–to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” What should strike you about this verse is that Jesus is very specific in what children produces judgment on the harmer. I highlighted “those who believe in me” because these are the only children that God cares about. These are the only children that God’s angels encamp. Your youth does not save you from God’s judgment. You are required as a teenager to believe in Jesus Christ and to hand your life over and then and only then will God save your soul and send you His Comforter. I have never seen a teenager filled with the Holy Spirit commit suicide, but have buried teenagers filled with demons end their life. Where there is no vision, the people perish (Proverbs 29:18).
We exist for the pleasure of our Creator. We live or die at his appointed hour. If we please our Creator, then He will reward us, but if we reject Him, then He will destroy us. For most of the population, God gives the choice to choose Him. Some He appoints for hell, like Judas and Pharaoh and others He appoints for heaven, like David and Moses and others He allows you to choose, like Joseph told the people of Israel, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods of Egypt or the one true God. If you can read this and internalize it, you are part of the population that chooses. If you are appointed for hell or heaven it is highly unlikely you will read this post.
A teen with a vision chooses a mate that matches the vision that God has for your life. You should not have opposing visions and you should know them before you couple. Choosing well will determine your altitude in life. Wrong relationships can ruin your life. Most crime is committed against people who are known by the assailant. Your enemies according to the Bible come from your own home. Choosing someone with the same vision works to protect your future. Hence, Christians are required by God to marry Christians. If you choose to marry someone of another religion, your visions will not align and your destined for future problems that will ruin your life.
As a teen you have a responsibility to acknowledge God and realize your youth does not protect you from crisis. I often hear people say, “I was young” and then they tell me the current crisis that was a result of a poor decision that was made within the teen years. Bad decisions are not sympathetic to age. The quicker you give your life to Jesus and draw from His wisdom, you set yourself up to miss critical mistakes others have made. You spare yourself from unnecessary pain. If having no vision leads to perishing, it only stands to reason that having a vision leads to an abundant life.
