We know the Lord is the author of life and having babies can be fun. The trials of pregnancy are often forgotten once the little one arrives and you hold him/her in your hands for the first time. The joy that ensues when the wait is over and the pain from delivery is done. All you remember in this moment is the joy. Of course, the joy is short lived when you are forced to spend your nights waking up early and attending to your new bundle of joy. But you would never change it and the craving of having another will soon be upon you. Babies are a blessing and if you raise them in the admonition of the Lord they will continue to be a blessing.
Having babies is one thing and training them right is another. It is easy to see the parents who fail at home, because they embarrass them in public. What is done in secret will be brought to the light. Remember, nothing is hidden that will not be revealed and your sin will surely find you out. Your baby is a gift from God that must be returned to Him if you want your baby to grow up and produce good fruit. The time for training is now. Praying for your baby is a must. Reading the Bible out loud to your baby is a must. Your baby should see and hear you pray and read your Bible. They should see that your strength and vitality come from Jesus.
Refrain from lying to them about santa, the easter bunny, the tooth fairy and whatever new lie that satan can conjure. Do not lie to your children and then expect them to be truth tellers. Lying is not cute. All liars shall have their place in the lake of fire. Satan is the father of lies, so if you practice his philosophy, your children will produce satanic fruit. Remember, sin in and sin out. Give your children a fighting chance. They will have enough temptation from the outside, lets minimize and eliminate sin from within the home.
Your child by the age of four should know who created him/her and why. They should be given as much wisdom as they can handle. This generation grows faster then the generation before it and your children should be armed with the truth early. Teach them what it means to be a Christian and how this lifestyle is not for the faint of heart. Show them the errors of Biblical characters and show them the Biblical characters who made better choices and how the blessings of God flow in His obedient children.
Arm them for war. Life is war. That is why the Psalmist said, “Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them (Psalm 127:4-5).
